April 22 – UFOP Southwest Chapter Meeting Featuring Speaker Tony Harper, PhD

Our speaker this month is Tony Harper, PhD, who will be presenting his research on mammalian inner ears from Argentina to Mongolia. He promised to keep the technical level of his presentation appropriate for non-PhD listeners. Thank you Tony! His talk is titled, “The Sound and the Furry: Mammalian Cochlear Evolution in the Mesozoic”

April 8 — Castle Country Chapter Meeting — Talk by Michael Chiappone

Castle Country Chapter will meet on Monday, April 8 and will feature a talk by Michael Chiappone, PhD candidate at University of Minnesota. He will be presenting “Go with the Flow: Experimental Methods for Investigating Bone Transport and Burial”. Join us online or meet at the museum classroom at 7 pm. A few of us will be meeting at the Mecca before the meeting if you care to join us, around 5:15 pm.

The Southwest Chapter of Utah Friends of Paleontology’s March speaker is Robert Gay, the Education Manager at the Idaho Museum of Natural History. Rob is heading our way to work at the SGDDS quarry. While he’s here, he’ll educate us on the Idaho Dino scene. Come meet Rob at our March meeting!
