Southwest Chapter (St. George) Meeting & Talk:
Neck Ligaments in Sauropod Dinos — What Support is There?
September 16th, 7 PM
Utah Tech S.E.T. Bldg. Room 105
Join us for our September meeting, where paleontologist Jerry D. Harris will present one student’s novel approach to answer the question:
How did sauropods manage to keep their long, heavy necks (and noggins) off the ground and away from predators?
Sauropod dinosaurs, including the largest land animals of all time, overcame numerous evolutionary hurdles to attain such large sizes…but without modern analogs, how can we figure out how they did it? In particular, how did they hold up their long necks all the time?
Stick your neck out and join us for some answers!
See you there!
