Utah Friends of Paleontology Southwest Chapter Field Trip on Saturday, February 28, 2026

The Southwest Chapter of Utah Friends of Paleontology will visit several paleontological localities in Warner Valley, including the Warner Valley Tracksite, the Olsen Canyon Tracksite, and an area accessed by hiking up through the Moenave Formation to the lower part of the overlying Kayenta Formation. The field trip will be led by our SW UFOP chapter advisor and Curator and Lead Paleontologist, Andrew Milner, from the St. George Dinosaur Discovery Site.

Roads potentially require a high clearance vehicle – preferably four wheel drive – to access Olsen Canyon and Moenave-Kayenta hike. Rides can be coordinated with Michelle Patrick (714) 264-0572. Anyone who has space in their vehicle, please let Michelle know.

We are meeting at the St George Dinosaur Discovery Site Parking Lot at 9 AM, located at:

2180 East Riverside Drive, St. George, UT 84790

The field trip could take most of the day, so please bring water, lunch and sunscreen!
